The Sacred Name Movement began in 1930's America, among Sabbath keeping Adventists, and they raise an interesting point. If our Lord's Aramaic and Greek speaking countrymen were in the flesh today, they would certainly recognize the pronounciation of His name in Spanish speaking countries before they recoginized the pronounciation used in the American Bible belt, yet many a preacher in the Bible belt quotes Acts 4:12 without giving much thought to what the Apostle meant by "no other name." If we gave it more thought, perhaps most of us would agree with the words of the poet, who said "a rose by any other name would still smell as sweet." Our Sacred Name brethren do not agree with these words. They take the correct pronunciation of our Lord's name very seriously, but disagree on the pronounciation amoung themselves.
